The Avon Descent is an incredible two-day, 124km adventure river challenge from Northam to Bayswater, Western Australia.
This 3 day experience was one of the busiest and most rewarding projects we were fortunate enough to be a part of in 2025. The scope of this iconic WA event required multiple teams spread out at different locations, every day. Our scheduling required close collaboration with the Avon committee to ensure we did not miss any pivotal locations and event checkpoints.
The constant filming process was still only part of the challenge with this project. The footage captured by our crews needed to be delivered to the editor the moment the final competitors had crossed the finish line for the day.
Once all the days visuals had been handed to the editing crew, their task was to piece together an engaging highlight reel that had to be ready for posting on social media by 7pm. We are happy to say that we met the daily deadlines and as a bonus we managed to offer a variation on video style, mood and pace for three consecutive evenings.
The feedback from the Avon committee - and the competitors we filmed - was extremely positive and the content we delivered has given the team behind the event a diverse assortment of promotional material in the lead up to the 2026 event.
